RED DRESS GALA
The Red Dress Gala is Alpha Phi’s most anticipated and iconic philanthropic event of the year. Red Dress Galas are hosted by many collegiate chapters of Alpha Phi across the nation as their signature fundraising event. Gala festivities include dinner, musical entertainment and both a live and silent auction. This past year we had around 145 people attend our gala and auctioned off various items for them, including: vacation packages, Kate Spade purses, Kendra Scott jewelry, Cubs/Cardinals/Royals memorabilia (some autographed and some not), and various baskets with themes such as spa, yoga, beer/wine and Alpha Phi.
Red Dress Poker Tournament
Our popular philanthropy event is our poker tournament, which follows our Red Dress Gala and concludes our Red Dress Weekend. It is a day-long poker competition among Mizzou fraternity chapters and other men around campus.
Alpha Phis serve as dealers, chip girls and lucky charms, and cheer on the men as they compete for the first place title. This past year we had around 270 participants in our poker tournament that helped us to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation.
In total this past year during our Red Dress Weekend we were able to raise around $30,000 to donate to the Alpha Phi Foundation and their goal to raise awareness for women’s heart health, the number one killer of women.
